Ready for Church

In the mornings while I am getting ready, the kids like to play dress-up with the shoes in our closet. I just thought this was particularly cute! Anna walked all over the house in those heals without falling!

New Dress #2

This is the second dress Anna got from Grandma Niederhauser for her birthday. She was very excited to wear it, but as you can tell by the photo, she did NOT want her picture taken. What a dramatic little girl!! :)

Nate's Singing Card

I gave Blair a singing card for his birthday, and Nathan loved it! He kept opening it over and over again. When we tried to take it away at bedtime, he threw a fit! Blair chased him into the bedroom and behind the bed where he hid in the corner and screamed like a girl until Blair finally wrenched it out of his hands. All I can say is, what a spirited little boy!! :)

Mac 'n Cheese Pizza

A few weeks ago Anna asked if we could have mac 'n cheese pizza for dinner. "Gross!" I thought. Then I got my new Taste of Home cooking magazine in the mail, and there was a recipe for mac 'n cheese pizza in it! What?! Well, now I had to make it! It is basically a mac 'n cheese crust with pizza toppings baked on top. It wasn't half bad, but Anna didn't like it. So I won't be adding this to our regular meal rotation. Oh, well. At least we tried it! :)

Happy Birthday Blair!!!

Today is Blair's 32nd birthday! To celebrate we went out to lunch (sans kids), and then we had cake and presents later. Since I was the one that decorated the cake it was nothing too creative, but it sure was tasty!! :)

New Dress

Anna got two new dresses for her birthday from Grandma Niederhauser, and she finally got to wear one to church today. Pink and yellow are two of her best colors!

Puddle Jumping

Nathan refused to run through the sprinklers, but he loved splashing in the puddles they made on the sidewalk!

July 2010

Anna turned 4 last week!! We were driving to Canada on her birthday, so we celebrated with my family a few days early. She is such a sweet little girl, and we are so blessed to have her in our family. Happy Birthday, beautiful girl!!! :)

Happy 100 Years

Blair's Grandpa Kearl (his mom's father) is turning 100 this month, and one of the reasons we went to Canada was to celebrate his birthday. He is an amazing man and a great example to his family. The ward and community had a special open house Friday night to honor him, and we were blessed to have a family fireside with him Saturday night. He told stories, sang songs, and bore his testimony. Although his body is very old, his mind is remarkably clear. Happy Birthday, Grandpa Kearl!

Minute to Win It

Empty all tissues from a box with one hand in under a minute.

Move one cookie down your face into your mouth without hands.

Unwind two rolls of crepe paper by swinging your arms in circles.

Get at least one bean into the bottle in under a minute.

Stack as many apples as possible in under a minute.

Get 5 tube pastas onto the spaghetti without hands.

Stack and unstack 15 cups with one hand.
In the afternoon the adults played a game called Minute to Win It. There were 10 contestants, and after each round the contestant to finish the task last was eliminated. Blair came out on top and won the entire game! He was a good sport and really got into the competition. I knew he was talented!!

Grandpa's Candy Scramble

The Candy Scramble is a tradition in Blair's family where his grandpa throws out handfuls of candy and the kids grab all they can get. The "kids" are divided into age groups, including adults. Although Nathan slept through the entire event, Anna made out pretty well. As soon as I can get them, I will post pictures of 30-40-year-old grown men tackling each other for candy. It was the highlight of the reunion!

Roping lessons with Uncle Christian

Buckin' Bull

Nate loves all cars.

Walking up the road
Duck, Duck Goose (some of the older kids were really cute and helped Nathan play!)

One of the big kids!

Last week we went to Canada for Blair's mom's family reunion. On Saturday morning there were game stations for the kids. While Anna wasn't thrilled about participating, Nathan had a blast! He has no idea he's a little kid. He thinks he's as big as everyone else!

Roping Lessons

Blair's brother Christian gave me roping lessons while we were in Canada last week. I think he finally gave up on me when he realized I was a lost cause!

Anna's 4th Birthday

We celebrated Anna's 4th birthday in Utah with my family, and she was spoiled rotten as usual! Blair made another one of his amazing masterpiece cakes. This year Anna wanted Jesse from Toy Story 3. I thought he did a pretty darn good job!!

Nate's Shades

Stadium of Fire 2010

My sister Erin and I went to Stadium of Fire in Provo to see Carrie Underwood. It was awesome!! I can't wait to see her in concert again as soon as possible!!!
